My name: Lorenzo

My full name is Lorenzo C.! I don’t have a middle name. When I was a baby, my parents called me “loro” (which means “parrot” in English) because I would never stop shouting.

Lorenzo

Meaning: Man from Laurentum A country located on the Italian Peninsula in Southern Europe

Origin: Italy

Who chose it and why:

My parents chose this name for me because my grandfather told them the story of Saint Lorenzo. Saint Lorenzo was one of the seven deacons of ancient Rome who were martyred during the persecution of Roman Emperor Valerian in the year 258. They liked it and that’s why now I am called like this!

  1. Hi Lorenzo!
Had never heard of Martyr Lorenzo! But browsing the Web I found about St Lorenzo da Brindisi, who apparently loved speaking as much as you do, and was especially renowned for his talent for languages! Sounds like you two had quite a lot in common. ;-)

Here I've been able to learn a bit about the martyr you mentioned in your entry. He was a clever man indeed!
